Personal loans 'useful in an emergency'
Consumers who are facing short-term emergencies could benefit from taking out personal loans, an expert has suggested.
In a column for Helium.com, Dawn Hawkins suggested that the products are essential for situations such as when a refrigerator breaks down and the owner faces the danger of spoiling a large amount of food.
However, she added that it is vital for people to ensure that their credit report is in good condition before they aim to take out a loan.
"You never know when you might need to get a personal loan for something," she explained.
"Having bad credit will affect your ability to get a personal or any other type of loan for a very long time."
Loans&Credit.com recently suggested that consumers can often find themselves with no other option than to take out a bad credit loan.
The website added that other people need to do their homework and compare deals before applying for one.
