Money worries 'affect people's health'
People with concerns over their finances feel such worries are harming their health, according to new research.
The study by Moneybasics.co.uk revealed that nearly two out of five people feel they have financial problems which are impacting on their relationships and caused depression, reports the Press Association.
However, 38 per cent of people with unsecured loans and other debts said they hope to cut their borrowing over the next 12 months or so.
Discussing the figures, psychologist David Moxon said: "People frequently approach their finances in a similar way to how they approach their physical health.
"Getting yourself financially healthy takes time, dedication and commitment just as it would to get fit in the gym, but the long-term benefits are equally as important."
Debt advice specialists MoneySolve recently claimed that debts from credit cards can "soon mount up".
The company made the comment after recent figures from Credit Action revealed that total personal credit card debt in the UK now stands at £54.5 billion.
