Finance 'remains key to first-time buyers'
The issue of finance remains a vital area of debate for first-time buyers at present, according to an expert.
Paul Collins, property editor of the website BuyAssociation.co.uk, said there are still some good deals available on new building properties, but other pressures continue to play a part in whether people can get on the market.
He explained that many people are set to wait until the end of the year to see what happens in the market, both in terms of saving for a deposit and homeowner loan rates.
However, Mr Collins added that the future of house prices in the UK is difficult to predict.
"Anyone who throws in a prediction at the moment is really just guessing. There are so many variables which will lead to a great deal of uncertainty in the market," he outlined.
The latest Halifax House Price Index revealed that the value of property in the UK fell by 1.5 per cent during February.
