Brits to blow budgets on overseas trips...

Brits are determined to leave their financial worries behind them this summer and spend their way out of misery on holiday.

A study by American Express has shown that nearly a third of Brits planning to go abroad aim to spend all their holiday cash. A fifth indicated they will probably go over budget by stocking up on duty free products at the airport.

The research found that holidaymakers who rely on withdrawing cash rather than travellers' cheques are more likely to blow their budget.

A spokesperson for American Express said: "The last thing people want to do when they go on holiday is worry about money.

"This summer's trend should be about being savvy with your money."

A recent study by the Post Office found that the strength of the euro against the pound means that short-haul travellers will get more for their money by holidaying in non-euro countries like Egypt and Turkey rather than popular destinations like Spain and France.

Brits looking for a way to finance a well-earned break may want to consider taking out a personal loan.
