Brits 'must not ignore debt issues'
Consumers in the UK should look to use debt consolidation loans and other similar products to gain control of their finances, it has been suggested.
Debt management specialists MoneySolve has claimed there are a range of solutions available to people who may be facing a tough festive period due to money problems.
Recent figures from Experian suggested that January 2012 will be one of the busiest ever starts to a year for debt collection departments, as people default on repayments due to overspending over Christmas.
MoneySolve claimed: "If you're experiencing difficulty meeting your loan or credit card repayments, the worst possible thing to do is to ignore the problem and hope it will go away because it won't.
"But seeking professional debt advice and looking into the options available to you is a great move in the right direction."
Melanie Taylor, head of corporate relations at Think Money, recently called on consumers to carefully plan how they intend to pay back debts or credit they run up over the festive period.
