Right to Buy Mortgages

Norton Mortgages have been arranging Right to Buy Mortgages for council tenants for many, many years. We have 35 years of experience and knowledge to assist you all the way to completion, enabling you to purchase your own home as quickly as possible.

You are eligible for a right to buy mortgage, at a price well below the market value, once you have met the minimum period of occupancy. This is currently 2 years in a council property for tenancies that began prior to 18th January 2005 or, if after that, the minimum period is 5 years.

Once the council confirms you are eligible for the Right to Buy they will send you the RTB1 application form and this will be used to calculate the discount you will receive from the value of your property. You will then receive the RTB2 form and this will confirm whether your application has been approved. At this stage contact Norton Mortgages and a dedicated Right to Buy specialist advisor will help and advise on which mortgage product would be best for you and your circumstances.

Loans of up to 100% and above the discounted price are available and the extra cash can be used for home improvements, debt consolidation and many other purposes.
